Moo says the Girl

My name is Maggie and I am an artist.

If you're here for my artwork I suggest you follow my art blog instead as this blog is a mishmash of silliness and personal posts.

This blog can and will contain artwork (mine and others), personal posts, occasional fandom posts, cute animals, selfies, and social justice sometimes.

I am dealing with depression and anxiety and sometimes might talk about it.

If you ever need someone to talk to or share your problems with, my ask box is open to you.

As far as this Chris Brown thing goes, I've never been a fan of him. But I know after his assault on Rihanna, she started writing raunchier lyrics ("S&M" and "Rude Boy" come to mind, but there are others) I think Brown's fans just think Rihanna is a-okay now, and considering she's writing about all these sexual exploits, she must've moved on. Doesn't make it right, but I think ignorance on the situation would cause people to draw a conclusion like that and defend him. :/

People also just don’t want to have to consider someone else long enough to realize that something they like is probably not a good thing.

I had a question maybe you might have the answer to. I know in public school, we didn't really discuss the Manifest Destiny other than important battles between Native American tribes and the U.S. army or militia. Why did it never occur to the U.S. government to simply incorporate the tribes in with our government as a country??

Because they literally saw native american tribes as savages who needed to be “rescued” from themselves or slaughtered because they were too stupid to live.  To ask that now makes sense.  If you had asked that then, it would be like asking “Hey, instead of razing that forest, why not incorporate the animals into our society and build our stuff around them and let them be part of our government and vote in stuff.”

In other words, you’d sound crazy.

The British pretty well thought that anyone that wasn’t them was stupid and needed to be taken over back then.

Hey Maggie, quick question. The post about the spiral galaxy that shouldn't exist, what's the significance of the people's horrified reactions in response? Just wondering.

Look up Uzumaki by Junji Ito.

Be frightened the rest of your life.

Understand the joke.

I know you're going to bed and don't have to answer this, but as a journalist I do eventually want to try and bring attention to and educate people about different social justice topics (what cisgender means, pansexuality, transphobic, PoC representation in media, etc.) I know myself personally I didn't know there was such a thing as pansexual until I met Peter, but before I met him and your tumblr I only knew things to be in the gender binary (which is still a little confusing to me sometimes)

Gender binary and non-binary kind of exploded my brain when I first heard of it.  Don’t worry.  Sometimes it’s hard to wrap your mind around things that don’t apply to you.

Maggie, I just wanted to say I agree with you on defending PoC's possibly being excluded from the role in the AC movie. It's one thing to get excited over an actor, but I read the whole thing (on your blog, mind you) and I didn't think you were being rude or calling anyone racist by simply pointing out that PoC's are excluded from roles in Hollywood all the time, and this one is kinda ridiculous since most of the characters in AC are PoC. Just wanted to throw my two cents in about this ordeal.

Thank you, that means a lot since you and I sometimes butt heads.<3<3

Hi Maggie, I know it's not a Wisdom Wednesday, but I wanted to ask you about Obamacare. What is your personal opinion towards it, and I guess maybe explain to me why it gets conservatives underwear in a twist. I looked over an outline on Wikipedia, and despite being confusing, it doesn't sound so bad. I know I personally didn't have any insurance on myself growing up until I was 16, but this ensures people get the medical care they need. Why is that bad?

It’s not.

They just pretty much don’t like anything Obama has his fingerprints on.  It’s a really good thing and they know it but they don’t want the American people to know it.

nayr1230 replied to your post: “In my opinion ppl choose to be gay!….”

Ahh, the ol’ “straight double standard.” ‘You clearly chose to be gay just to tear down the religious basis of religion and family, but we haven’t considered that we never made a conscious decision to choose to be straight!’

Next time someone throws that at you go “Fine.  Fine, choose to be gay.  Right now. Become gay.  You’re saving my soul and doing it on God’s behalf and you can always ask for forgiveness afterwards, right?  So go.  Go be gay.”

It freaks them the fuck out.

I saw someone mention that Kristen had blocked them, and apparently she blocked me too. Go figure. Wasn't even trying to "pick a side" as it were, but I guess they didn't see it that way. :/

I guess I have to wonder if it’s healthy that they keep checking my Tumblr.

nayr1230 asked:

I have this friend who I was pretty close with. Thing is, she revealed to me that she had a six month long affair that her husband doesn't know about it happening. I'm one of the few people that she's directly told, and I voiced how I think her cheating and being so deceptive with her husband (who provides everything for her). A few friends of mine have told me that I need to expose her affair (as I'm sure she's having another now), but I'm not sure how or what to do.

(continued from Affair Girl) Additionally, she is no longer friends with me as we were, I suppose because I never supported her affairs and constantly opposed them. What do?

That’s a tough one.

As much as you want to help her husband, it’s none of your business what she does and how she does it and who she does it to.  In the end, she’s not hurting anyone more than breaking some hearts and that’s not a big enough thing to insert yourself into their relationship and take it upon yourself to get them to confront one another.

It’s her job to tell him and she either will or will get caught red handed and it will be that much worse for her.

If you have your mind made up to tell him, at least give her a chance to tell him before you do.

I know it’s hard but it’s really just not your place. :(

Maggie I just wanted to say that I love you (and really like the Moogie theme, she's adorable) and how positive you are and a crusader against injustice within the world, and I know just from reading your blog that I've become more educated about things that I wasn't even aware that I was doing that may have been harmful to others in the past. It wasn't that I was trying to be mean, I just didn't know anything. So I wanted to thank you. Keep doing what you're doing. <3

<3 <3 <3 This makes me very happy, you have no idea.  I don’t know how to respond other than thank you and hearing things like this makes me feel like I’m not talking out into empty space. <3

Send me a message on how your puppy is doing, I’ve been worried. D:

I just wanted to say to the anonymous girl who is considering coming out to her parents, it is a big step, and like Maggie said, if you feel it will bring any sort of harm to yourself you don't have to do it right now. I personally am waiting to come out to my parents until I'm a bit more self-sufficient because they help me quite a bit financially, and me living in their renthouse and all. I hope I've also been of some assistance, and I wish you well with whatever you decide to do about it. :)
